  • Wendy Williams has been saying that she will return to her eponymous TV show
  • It's impossible for Williams to return because Sherri Shepherd has her timeslot
  • Williams is reportedly still not well based on her recent interview with Fat Joe

Wendy Williams will unlikely return to her eponymous talk show this fall.

The "Wendy Williams Show" host said when she appeared on "Good Morning America" in March that she would return to her show even after it was announced that Sherri Shepherd would be taking over her timeslot in the fall with her new show "Sherri." However, an unnamed source told Page Six that it's "logistically impossible" for Williams to do so.

Debmar-Mercury, the production company, already signed a deal with Shepherd to take over her time slot. So, she couldn't just return to her eponymous show.

"Where’s she gonna go? It’s done. Logistically, it won’t work. Sherri has her time slots," the tipster added.

In addition, Williams is allegedly still not well. The producers were not happy about Fat Joe's interview with Williams over the weekend because they were not given a heads-up. Williams reportedly "did not appear well" during the interview.

"She didn’t seem like she was all there. At times, she couldn’t even complete a sentence," the insider said. "She has not been able to consistently work… She did not have the mental and physical capacity to host her show. [Debmar] wanted her back more than anybody. They would’ve loved for her to finish out this chapter."

The tipster noted that "Wendy is uninsurable."

Williams sat down for an IG Live with Fat Joe over the weekend and announced that she would "absolutely" be returning. The "Cape Wind: Money, Celebrity, Class, Politics, and the Battle for Our Energy Future on Nantucket Sound Wendy Williams" author added that she would not be watching Shepherd's show.

"I’m coming back to 'The Wendy Williams Show.' Absolutely. Absolutely," she said. As for Shepherd's new show, the TV host said, "That’s not really my thing… anyway, but I love being on my own show, and I love that people love to watch it all the time."

Fat Joe has been one of Williams' multiple guest hosts filling in for her during her year-long absence. The host and author added that she only wanted Fat Joe and Remy Ma to fill in for her going forward.

"I love everyone hosting it, but I have to say, I wish you only did that… I love you two or just her or just you," she said.

Last month, Williams was spotted looking vibrant in New York City. She was overheard saying she was ready to make a "big comeback on TV" and she was "getting my money back very soon" amid her legal battle with Wells Fargo.

Williams filed a temporary restraining order against the bank for not giving her access to her financial assets without "adequate explanation or evidence to support its decision."
