Wendy Williams ‘Not Handling Stress Well,’ Source Reveals After Live TV Mishap
It seems there’s more to Wendy Williams’ live TV mishap on Tuesday than what she claimed to be a fainting spell brought about by the heat in her Statue of Liberty costume. A source has now come forward to reveal that the horrifying moment was actually caused by the stress that the television host is experiencing at present.
On Wednesday, a source who spoke on condition of anonymity told Entertainment Tonight that the 53-year-old actress seems to be not handling the stress piling up in the wake of her husband’s alleged affair quite well. “To say she’s not handling the stress well is an understatement,” the source said.
Williams’ situation is said to be quite serious that the staff of her show are deeply troubled and concerned for her. “People are extremely concerned about it and worried she is going to completely lost it because this is so catastrophic for her. Staff on the show are particularly concerned about the stress of it on her.”
The source went on to claim that Williams is going through tough times now since she is in denial that her husband Kevin Hunter may have had a decade-long affair with a massage therapist. Last month, she bravely addressed the issue on her talk show, saying, “You can believe what you want, but I stand by my guy … Don’t believe the hype, and if there was hype, believe me you — I would let you know.”
Williams is not blaming her scary on-air collapse on the cheating allegations as well. When she managed to get back up after she fainted, she told the audience that she simply overheated in her Statue of Liberty costume. She also alluded to her age and menopause as being the main causes of the incident, as per Bravo.
On Wednesday’s broadcast, Williams once again spoke about the incident. This time though, she didn’t brush it off lightly and instead admitted that it was a frightening experience. “It was scary,” she said while choking up. “It was really scary. It was so scary, all I could think of in the middle of the scare was, ‘Don’t pull the podium over on you, because that’ll make it worse.’”
Williams went on to reveal that her husband helped her following the chaotic event. “Next thing I know, my husband comes out and collects me and brings me backstage, because he knows what I want to do. I want to hurry up and get back out here and close out the show like the champ I am.”
In the end, Williams thanked everyone who expressed their support after the mishap. “I want to thank you all for your tweets and your flowers,” she said. “I got all of your well wishes … even the haters, because you motivate me.”
