  • Wendy Williams irked the netizens for mispronouncing coronavirus because the pandemic has been around for almost a year already
  • Some Twitter users found Williams' mistake funny
  • Donald Trump announced last week that he and Melania had tested positive for COVID-19

Many found Wendy Williams hilarous on Twitter after she mispronounced "coronavirus" when she talked about President Donald Trump's tweet on her show. However, several were also annoyed that she couldn't pronounce it right even though the pandemic has been going on for several months already.

On Tuesday, Trump announced on Twitter that he was leaving Walter Reed Medical Center after he tested positive for coronavirus. He also urged the public to not be afraid of COVID-19 or let it dominate their lives. Williams reacted to the POTUS’ statement but mispronounced the word "coronavirus" by saying "cornova."

Many were furious after hearing Williams’ mistake because COVID-19 has been around for almost a year and according to some Twitter users, it seemed that “she never heard of it.”

"It’s not even funny... Wendy sounds ignorant .... this [explicit] has been in our lives for over 6 months... learn to pronounce COVID or CORONA... it’s not that difficult," one commented.

"We’ve been dealing with COVID for months. You don’t know how to pronounce Corona? Smh," another added.

"@NeNeLeakes did @WendyWilliams really just try to be serious with the people & say 'cornova,' not once but twice! How long have we been dealing with the pandemic & you don’t know that it’s COROna! What!?!" another added while tagging Nene Leakes, whom Williams was allegedly feuding with.

Meanwhile, not everyone was upset with William’s mispronunciation. Many also found it hilarious.

"Wendy Williams pronouncing ‘Corona’ as ‘Cronova’ is the funniest thing I’ve heard all day," one wrote.

"So is Cornova the mutation of Corona Virus?" another jokingly added with laughing emoji.

“@WendyWilliams listen i know we are upset with Trump but its not Cornova... what the crap... hahaha... its corona,” another wrote.

Last week, Trump announced that he and his wife Melania had tested positive for coronavirus. The announcement received mixed reactions from the netizens, with many blaming them for not wearing face masks on their outings. Several also sent heart-warming messages and prayers to the first couple while hoping for their speedy recovery.
