Wendy's Photo: Employee Eats Ice Cream Straight From Frosty Machine In Viral Picture
An unidentified Wendy’s location has become the latest victim of the recent fast-food employee misbehavior craze. A photo that appears to depict a Wendy’s employee drinking straight from a Frosty machine has gone viral.
In the photo, an unnamed Wendy’s employee can be seen crouching under what appears to be a vanilla Frosty machine. The picture, which was posted to Reddit with the caption “I was going to buy a frosty from Wendy’s until I saw the employee do this,” has led to a good deal of outrage among social media users.
Needless to say, Wendy’s corporate apparatus isn’t too pleased with the spread of the Frosty photo. Spokesperson Bob Bertini told the Huffington Post Wednesday that the employee’s behavior is “totally inexcusable,” adding that Wendy’s is “investigating and will take action.”
Wendy’s officials also addressed the photo controversy on the company’s official Twitter account. In a response to a question about the picture, the account echoed Bertini’s statement that the Frosty scandal was “totally inexcusable.”
“This involved one restaurant and the employee is no longer there,” the Wendy’s Twitter account stated. “We’re reinforcing proper procedures.”
A second Wendy’s spokesman, Denny Lynch, told USA Today that the Frosty-consuming incident probably took place in May, but declined to reveal the restaurant’s location. “Obviously, the employee broke the rules,” Lynch said in an email to USA Today. “He is no longer at the restaurant.”
The Wendy’s employee’s outrageous display is just the latest in a recent string of fast-food incidents that have gone viral. In early June, a Taco Bell employee was fired after a photo of him licking a set of taco shells spread throughout the Internet.
