WeTV’s ‘Love After Lockup’ Exclusive Episode 3 Clip: James Meets Alla’s Parents

WeTV’s new reality series “Love After Lockup,” which follows couples who met while one of them was imprisoned, returns with episode 3 of its first season on Friday and this time, it’s all about meeting the parents.

In this exclusive clip of the episode from WeTV, posted above, James meets Alla’s parents over a dinner at home where they confront him, the son of a police officer, about why he wanted to be with Alla, who’s an ex-con recovering from a heroin addiction. He explains that he started to really like her her from the very first letter they exchanged and that he’s fallen in love with who she is as a person.

It’s at dinner that James reveals his parents don’t know about Alla’s criminal past yet, because he wants they fall in love with her the same way he did first. He wants them to get to know her before they learn that she’s an ex-con, especially since his father’s a police officer.

If this clip of James and Alla has you excited about the new episode, but you need a little refresher on how the couple even met, look no further.

When Alla was working in New York City as a model, she got into the wrong crowd and began dealing heroin, which led to her being busted in a drug sting and sentenced to five years in prison. She became lonely after a few years, started to use a prison pen pal service and found James, a divorced former Marine from Chicago. Many letters, phone calls and in-person visits later, the two became a couple and now that she’s released from prison, they can finally be together. But clearly, as this clip indicates, they still have a long way to go until both they and their families are happy.

Aside from this scene, viewers will also get a lot more drama in episode 3 of “Love After Lockup,” titled “Meet The Parents.” The episode will also focus on Andrea and Lamar’s reunion, which sparks intense jealousy, and Garrett meeting Johnna’s dad, which turns out to be a test. Plus, when Scott rushes to pick up Lizzie, he gets devastating news, while Alla meets James’ friend, which brings her past back to haunt her. Not to mention that Mary will have a conjugal visit and Johnna gets disappointed by Garrett’s big purchase when it turns out to not be an engagement ring.

“Love After Lockup” airs on WeTV on Fridays at 10 p.m. EST.
