What Ava Phillippe Said About Her Boyfriend Being Compared To Her Dad Ryan Phillippe

It only took two words for Ava Phillippe to present her stance on the debate whether her boyfriend, Owen Mahoney, looks like her father, Ryan Phillippe.

A friend of the 19-year-old stood up for her on Instagram on Monday, writing, "He does not look like your dad." To which Ava responded, "Big thx."

The debate started when Ava posted a photo of herself with Mahoney to her social media account on Sunday. It didn't take long for people to take notice of a slight resemblance to the teen's father.

One Instagram user (@wutangclannnnn88) commented, "He looks so much like your dad omg." Meanwhile, another user (@kylekohen) disagreed, stating, "looks nothing like Ryan omg leave the poor girl alone."

Us Weekly confirmed that the pair both just recently finished their freshman year at University of California, Berkely. The couple had reportedly just gone "Instagram official" with their relationship less than a week ago.

Ava is the oldest of two children that her mother, actress Reese Witherspoon, and father Ryan share. The former couple were married in 1999 and divorced in 2007 after eight years of marriage. The duo also has a son together, 15-year old Deacon.
