Dr. Dawn Harper shared what Camilla Parker Bowles should do after her husband Prince Charles tested positive for coronavirus.
It was reported earlier that the Prince of Wales has contracted COVID-19. At present, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are self-isolating separately at Windsor Castle.
“Let's hope the Duchess remains asymptomatic but she will need to take precautions to increase her chances of remaining symptom-free,” Harper told Hello! Magazine. “There is also some evidence that some people can contract the virus without developing symptoms. The Duchess should be sleeping in a separate room, using a separate bathroom and maintaining social distancing within the house.”
Harper stressed that they everyone is still learning about the virus and they ask household contacts of symptomatic patients to also self-isolate for 14 days to make sure that they are not in contact with other people while they could potentially be incubating the disease.
Just like the common cold, there is no guarantee that if one member of the household contracts the disease all the others will suffer the same. One’s baseline health and immune system come to play in this.
Prince Charles just recently broke his silence following his COVID-19 diagnosis. He released a statement through Clarence House thanking everyone who wished him well.
“Thank you for all your ‘Get Well Soon’ messages for His Royal Highness. He is enormously touched by your kind words,” Clarence House wrote.
Camilla has already moved to another area of the estate to self-isolate. According to a source, the duchess if concerned about her husband’s condition, but she is confident that Prince Charles will eventually be fine.
“Both of them remain in good spirits,” a source told People. “There is a sense of keeping calm and carrying on. The duchess is concerned for him but she is aware of his own good spirits and therefore is keeping a close eye on him and mindful of her own situation. She is upbeat.”
Prince Charles and Camilla were last seen in public at the Commonwealth Day Service. They joined Queen Elizabeth II at the event. Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also present.
