What Does Maceo Mean? Halle Berry And Olivier Martinez Name Son 'Gift Of God'

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have named their son, two days after Berry gave birth to their first child at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The two have been dating since the fall of 2010 after working together on the film “Dark Tide.”

When she found out she was pregnant at the age of 46, she told CNN’s Alina Cho, “This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it's been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”

Berry has a 5-year-old daughter, Nahla, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and married Martinez in July of this year during an intimate ceremony in France that was attended by 60 guests.

"White marquees were put up, and everyone was very discreet because it was a show business wedding," a local told Us Weekly of the nuptials. "But generally it was pretty down-to-earth."

"She trusts Olivier," a source told the publication shortly after the 47-year-old French actor proposed in March. "He makes her feel safe. He's a keeper!"

The couple chose the name Maceo Robert Martinez, TMZ reports. Maceo has a Spanish origin and means “gift of God.” While Martinez is French, his father is Spanish and Robert is his father’s first name.
