What Does Melania Trump Like To Do? First Lady Takes Trump Family Bowling
Lest one thinks that the first lady's schedule only allows for hopping to Washington, D.C., and Florida, it would appear that Melania Trump can make time for the occasional family leisure activity.
The first lady took the youngest of the two Trump children – Tiffany and Barron – out for some quality bowling time on Monday afternoon in New York City, where the family lives. The first family visited a popular bowling alley at the Chelsea Pier in Manhattan, the Daily Mail reported.
Heavy security detail, which has drawn scrutiny in recent months, was required for the outing as the first family had about 30 Secret Service agents in tow. Barron's nanny was also reportedly on hand for the bowling trip.
The caravan picked up Barron from his school, the elite Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, before heading off to enjoy a couple hours of bowling. Melania eschewed her standard Roland Mouret shift or coatdress for an army jacket.
Bowlmor Lanes boasts a little more than your average neighborhood alley. The high-end bowling venue features a full menu that includes items like Bavarian Pretzel Dippers, salads, burgers and wraps. And instead of plastic chairs, bowlers can perch on tufted, black leather couches and ottomans. The venue also has its own social clubs and offers billiards tables and an arcade.
No doubt, Melania is looking for a bit of downtime after a series of state events and meetings. She met with Jordan’s Queen Rania last week, and the pair went to visit schools in the nation's capital while President Donald Trump and Jordan’s King Abdullah II met together at the White House.
The Trumps also hosted China’s President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan at Palm Beach, Florida, last Thursday.
