Miley Cyrus announced on Twitter Tuesday that she is naming her new album “BANGERZ.” The former Disney star explained to her fans they would understand the name of the album, expected later this year, once they heard it. Cyrus’ new song “We Can’t Stop” is about a non-stop party, and from the album name it seems the rest of the songs will follow a similar theme.

“If you don’t know why my record is called BANGERZ you’ll know as soon as you hear it. Nothin but #BANGERZ,” Cyrus posted after she shared the title.

The 20-year-old chose to misspell the word by adding a “z” instead of an “s” and writing it in all caps. So what does it mean? Sure, most people have heard of bangers and mash, the British dish of sausage and mash potatoes, but that’s most likely not what the twerking starlet was going for.

According to Urban Dictionary, a banger is a song that is “unbelievably awesome.” There’s also a second meaning: “An intense party, which involves large amounts of drinking, beer pong, and plenty of skanks to grind on. Always leaving the house a total mess.”

A third meaning is a girl with “an attractive body,” but it is doubtful Cyrus would dedicate her album to her fit bod. Even less likely, but also another meaning for banger according to Urban Dictionary, is an “old, dilapidated, worn-out car or less commonly, van.”

Her new hit “We Can’t Stop” showed off a new side: a twerking, grill-wearing blonde bombshell. The singer has transformed from a child star into a sexy diva and “BANGERZ” could very well be her proclamation to the world.
