What To Expect On The New Season Of ‘Return To Amish’
“Return To Amish” is finally making its long-awaited return to TLC with a sixth season, and while the show is once again bringing some new faces to fans, the drama is still set to be as intense as ever.
In a new preview clip for the season, which premieres XXXXX, it’s clear that fans are once again no longer going to see Kate Stoltz, Rebecca Schmucker, Abe Schmucker, or Mama Mary, but will still see some of the hijinks that Sabrina High, Jeremiah Raber, and his wife, Carmela, get into. In addition, they will also see as two new women join the show as cast members and begin to enjoy the English world for the first time.
Here's everything we can expect to see in the new season, according to the trailer.
Jeremiah Is Seeking His Birth Family
After dealing with seemingly endless issues in his marriage, Jeremiah now seems to be in a good place with Carmela, who is with him as he goes on an important journey for himself—by seeking out his birth family. Jeremiah was adopted into the Amish community, and it appears his search pays off over the season—as he not only meets his father but also meets others in the family and speaks to his grandmother as well.
The New Girls Are Friends
When Rosanna and Maureen are introduced through Jeremiah’s business partner Ada, we learn that they have different reasons for wanting to experience the outside world. While Maureen, who is a teacher, feels that the Amish life isn’t for everyone and that there is more in the world, Rosanna feels that the Amish lifestyle is horrible and wants to have fun.
As they experience the English world, fans will see them go out to dinners, go shopping and head to the beach as they experience the English lifestyle. Rosanna will also get a belly button piercing and Maureen will meet an English man, Danny.
Rosanna And Maureen Run Into Problems
As they experience more of English life though, issues seem to arise for both Rosanna and Maureen. Not only does Rosanna’s behavior cause problems as everyone worries she could go down a troubling path, but she and Maureen also see their friendship splinter, as Maureen grows closer to Danny and accuses Rosanna of being jealous—before the girls have a major fight, where Rosanna says they can’t be friends and Maureen admits she never trusted her anyway.
Sabrina Is Pregnant
Fans will also see Sabrina again for the first time since her drug overdose, which occurred shortly after filming on the show’s last season. This time around, she is pregnant, with her second child with boyfriend Jethro, who fans will meet. However, while things seem to be better in Sabrina’s world, they’re still dramatic, as her pregnancy appears to run into complications—and her relationship also experiences some tumultuous moments.
Jethro And Jeremiah Get Into It
It appears previous tensions between Sabrina and Jeremiah have cooled, but that doesn’t mean their friendship isn’t being tested by her relationship with Jethro. During one tense moment in the trailer, Jeremiah flies down the stairs of a house to confront Jethro, who is outside, because of some lies he has been telling. Fans will have to tune in to see what led to the confrontation—and to see how it plays out in the end.
“Return To Amish” premieres Monday, March 22 at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
