UPDATE: 11:56 a.m. EST — A representative for the actor said Perry “is currently under observation at the hospital,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Original story: Luke Perry was recently hospitalized. He reportedly suffered a “massive stroke.”

On Wednesday, paramedics were called to the “Riverdale” actor’s home in Sherman Oaks, California, TMZ reports. The fire department was informed that someone was suffering a stroke, and Perry was then taken to a local hospital.

Representatives for Perry have yet to comment on the situation. It’s unclear what his current condition is.

Perry plays Fred Andrews, one of the parents on The CW’s hit teen drama “Riverdale.” Of course, he first made a name for himself by playing a young adult on the original teen soap, “Beverly Hills, 90210.” He played Dylan McKay for the better part of a decade until the show ended in 2000.

The 52-year-old has appeared regularly on “Riverdale” since it premiered in 2016. It is not known if Perry’s health issues will affect “Riverdale,” which is still filming Season 3 in Vancouver.

On the day Perry was hospitalized, “Beverly Hills, 90210” announced a reboot of sorts. Fox announced Wednesday that original cast members Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling will star in a six-episode series.

Deadline reports that the cast will play heightened versions of their real-life selves. The cast hasn’t seen each other in 19 years, but they reunite when they start shopping a reboot around.

Shannen Doherty and Luke Perry were missing from the announcement. Spelling previously told People that Perry “will do as many [episodes] as he can do” with his “Riverdale” schedule.

Perry is also father to two children, Jack, 21, and Sophie, 18, whom he shares with ex-wife Rachel Sharp. They divorced in 2003.
