What Is Jim Carrey’s Alias For Prescription Pills? Cathriona White Was Married To Cameraman Mark Burton

Jim Carrey’s late girlfriend, Cathriona White, might have committed suicide by taking a cocktail of four prescription pills -- but the drugs weren’t in her name. The Irish makeup artist reputedly stole the medicine from her on-again, off-again Hollywood boyfriend. In a strange twist, the labels weren’t under Carrey’s name, either -- that’s because he used an alias, multiple reports revealed Tuesday.

The name Carrey, 53, used to get the drugs is not yet known. But the types of prescription pill bottles found next to White’s body were identified as Ambien, Percocet, Propranolol and Zofran, Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told Us Weekly and People magazine Tuesday. Ambien treats sleeplessness, Percocet is a painkiller, Propranolol helps with high blood pressure and chest pain, and Zofran aids with nausea and vomiting.

Winter said he would not reveal the alias the “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” star used, but Carrey didn't do anything illegal by not using his real name. “It’s not against the law if you go to the doctor, as long as it shows somewhere on your medical records your real name, then you can have [an alias]. A lot of celebrities use aliases," the coroner said."I’m not going to release the name. [They were all in the name of Jim’s alias] except for the Zofran. There was no name on the [Zofran] bottle."

While suicide seems like the likely cause for White’s untimely death at 30, it will take eight to 10 weeks for the official toxicology report to return. The coroner's office released her body Monday, People magazine wrote, and her family hopes to take her body to Ireland.

In an unexpected twist, White was married to another man at the time of her death. She and cameraman Mark Burton wed Jan. 14, 2013, in Las Vegas, Radar Online reported. White supposedly wanted to file for divorce in December, People added, but since she didn’t, Burton, 51, still had rights to her body. "The next of kin has to relinquish the body to her family," Winter told the publication in a different story. It’s unclear if he signed over the rights, and Winter said it was a “private family matter.”

Carrey and White dated on and off since 2012, Us Weekly wrote. The actor was likely in the dark about her marriage. “There is no way that Jim would have taken her out to public places if he thought she was married,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter. “As far as Jim was concerned, Cat was separated from her husband and was going to start divorce proceedings in December. When people are separated, they date or do whatever they need to do.”
