Kate Middleton is not looking forward to this one thing during Trooping the Colour.

Trooping the Colour is a special military parade to mark the monarch’s official birthday. It usually starts at Buckingham Palace and moves down The Mall to Horse Guard’s Parade. Over 1400 soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians participate in the event.

However, there’s one thing that the Duchess of Cambridge can’t stand in the ceremony – horses, Express reported. Unfortunately, she has to ride a horse carriage for the event. Since 2011, Middleton arrives at the event sharing a ride with Camilla Parker Bowles.

In 2009, Middleton made a shocking confession about her allergy to horses. At the time, Middleton was watching Prince William at a society polo match when Australian author Kathy Lette saw her at the tent in the corner of the field.

Lette asked Middleton why she didn’t join the party referring to the champagne reception taking place in a marquee next door. She also encouraged the duchess to play polo herself but Middleton gave a surprising response, “I’m allergic to horses.”

In 2011 Trooping the Colour, Middleton was photographed on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with her hands cupped over her face which seemed to suggest that she was about to sneeze. Unfortunately for Middleton, the members of the royal family are fond of horses. They are surrounded by horses. In fact, some of them are associated with equestrian.

In related news, Middleton successfully convinced the royal family that she’s a “royal in the making“ with the way she handled the press. When the media learned that she’s Prince William’s girlfriend, they constantly followed her and Middleton never made any move that embarrassed the Firm.

“I think part of the reason Prince William felt so comfortable with Kate was that she was comfortable with this role – with the media following her, with being in the public eye,” royal commentator Juliet Ridden told Nine News Australia.

“The whole Royal Family realised, ‘yes, this is a Royal in the making.”
