Maddie Ziegler has danced her way to fame. The now 17-year-old dancer, actress and model first graced screens as an 8-year-old with big dreams on Lifetime’s reality TV show “Dance Moms.”

The show centered around an elite dance team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the relationship between the dancers’ mothers and their extremely strict and competitive dance instructor Abby Lee Miller. Tensions were high, the practices were rigorous, and at least one person cried every episode. Although Ziegler was only one of many girls to appear on the show, including her younger sister, Mackenzie, she quickly captured the hearts of many viewers with her determined nature and raw talent.

When Ziegler left “Dance Moms” in 2016, her career didn’t stall. At that point she had already appeared in two of singer Sia’s music videos: “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart,” the latter alongside Shia LaBeouf, and would go on to star in the movie “The Book of Henry” in 2017.

Already in 2020, she has launched a new clothing line with Kate Hudson and made a cameo in Netflix’s “To All the Boys: PS I Still Love You.”

Ziegler’s clothing line is a second collection released in partnership with Hudson’s Fabletics, according to Refinery29. The first line, launched in 2019, was full of colorful leggings and bright sports bras. Ziegler said the new collection features edgier looks, with more neutral color palettes and captures more of where she is at in her life now.

“ I wanted it to be a lot more mature and geared toward teenagers who don’t necessarily want to dress in bright, rainbow colors all the time,” Ziegler said. “As I’m growing up, the line is growing up with me.”

Her high profile teen influencer status landed her a small cameo in Netflix’s “To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.” In the movie, Ziegler can be seen adorned in what looks like a cheerleading uniform with the number 19 painted on her cheek, Elite Daily reported.

Her acting career isn’t stopping here. It was revealed last year that Ziegler would play an important role as a “Jet girl” in the highly anticipated “West Side Story” remake by Steven Spielberg.

“It was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had,” Ziegler told Entertainment Tonight. “To work with Steven Spielberg was a pretty life-changing thing, so I’m really grateful for that.”

You can catch Ziegler in “West Side Story” in December.
