What Melania Trump Wore For 4th Of July At White House
Melania Trump joined her husband President Donald Trump to host the July Fourth Military Families Picnic. The first lady also wished her followers on Twitter.
Melania soaked in the Independence Day spirit and wore a royal blue fit-and-flare dress from designer Esteban Cortázar, according to Vogue magazine. The dress, reportedly retailed for $1, 477, had a scoop neck and a white border at the bottom. The 47-year-old kept her look minimal for the occasion, and accessorized only with her diamond ring.

Cortázar, 33, is a Colombian-born designer raised in Miami. “His collections often riff on two opposing ideas: a body restricted and a body in wild, free movement. Signature poet shirting, deftly cut circle hems that roam with force, and abandon, sliced leather and equestrian hardware, comprise some of the codes for a sensual woman who is assured, bold, and at times austere,” Cortázar’s bio states on his website, which also claims he became the youngest designer to show during New York Fashion Week in 2002 at the age of 18.
This is apparently the first time Melania wore an outfit by Cortázar. She has often been seen wearing designs by Adam Lippe, J. Mendel, and Roland Mouret.
On Friday, she wore a white button-down pencil skirt by Altuzarra while heading to the Trump national golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey head of the July 4 weekend. She completed her look with Christian Louboutin white stilettos, flat-top shades, and her glittering diamond engagement ring, according to Vogue.
Melania, a former model, is known for her fashion style. The blue coat dress she wore at the president’s inauguration ceremony in January was widely considered to be the apt outfit for the occasion. She garnered attention again in May by choosing to wear a $51,500 Dolce & Gabbana floral coat during Trump's visit to Italy. However, the coat received mixed responses from the fashion critics. The coat was sold out on luxury retail website Moda Operandi and those who bought it were told to make a $25,750 deposit, according to CNN.
Melania and Trump welcomed Panama’s President Juan Carlos Varela and his wife Lorena Castilla to the White House on June 19. For the occasion, the first lady wore a Carolina blue fitted dress designed by Michael Kors. The dress was priced at $1,695, reports said.
Also in June, the first was pictured in New York City, just over two weeks after moving into the White House. During her trip to the city, she reportedly kept a low profile. Melania moved into the White House on June 11 with her son Barron Trump. After Trump assumed office Jan. 20, she stayed back in New York City to oversee Barron’s academic year. While she accompanied her husband on several occasions and his first foreign trip, Melania was missing in action in Washington, D.C.
