What NFL Teams Will Make The 2018 Playoffs? Patriots, Seahawks, Packers Considered Postseason Locks

The start of the 2017 NFL season is still two months away, but training camps are nearing for the league’s 32 teams. All of them are hoping to at least make the playoffs, though the idea of competing for a championship is much more realistic for some than others.

The New England Patriots are the 2018 Super Bowl favorites and therefore considered to be a near-lock to make the playoffs. Having dominated the AFC East for the last 15 years, they are they are given -3000 betting odds to make the postseason.

The Seattle Seahawks have been named by oddsmakers as the most likely NFC team to reach the playoffs. They don’t have nearly the same odds as New England, but they are expected to be the class of the NFC West. Seattle hasn’t missed the playoffs since 2011, and they’ve won at least one postseason game in each of the last five years.

The Green Bay Packers aren’t far behind Seattle with -500 odds to play beyond the regular season. With Aaron Rodgers at the helm, Green Bay is seemingly a guarantee to win a wild-card spot, at worst. The Packers haven’t missed the playoffs since 2008, though they have only reached one Super Bowl during that time.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders are the only other teams with -200 odds or better to make the postseason. The Atlanta Falcons, who blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl, have -150 odds to return to the playoffs.

The Cleveland Browns and New York Jets are considered the biggest longshots to make the playoffs. Both teams have +2000 odds to find their way into the postseason.
