What Time Does Super Bowl 2021 Start? Actual Kickoff Time, TV Pregame Schedule For Chiefs-Bucs
From the pregame coverage to the halftime show to the actual game itself, Super Bowl LV is an all-day affair. The Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will meet Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, for the biggest TV event of 2021.
Kickoff is officially scheduled for 6:30 p.m EST on CBS, but the network will have several hours of coverage before the two teams take the field. The first of several CBS Super Bowl pregame shows starts seven hours before the NFL contest.
“That Other Pregame Show” airs at 11:30 a.m. EST, followed by “Road To The Super Bowl” at 12 p.m. EST. “Tony Goes to the Super Bowl,” featuring former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and Super Bowl analyst Tony Romo, gets underway at 1 p.m. EST.
“Super Bowl Today” previews the game from 2-6 p.m. EST. “Super Bowl on CBS Kick-Off Show” takes one final look at the Chiefs and Bucs before Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady square off.
Super Bowl LV will likely begin a few minutes after its scheduled start time. The coin toss for Super Bowl LIV last year took place at 6:34 p.m. and the game kicked off at 6:41 p.m., Sports Illustrated reports.
Romo and Jim Nantz will call the game from the booth for CBS. Reporters Tracy Wolfson, Evan Washburn, Jay Feely, and Rules Analyst Gene Steratore are also part of the broadcast team.
Super Bowl LV might not conclude until after 10 p.m. EST. CBS will broadcast the presentation of the Vince Lombardi Trophy and the Super Bowl MVP trophy before coverage of the game ends.
Mahomes is the reigning Super Bowl MVP. Kansas City is looking to become the first team to win consecutive championships since 2005.
Brady and the New England Patriots were the last team to win back-to-back Super Bowls. The legendary quarterback is seeking a record seventh Super Bowl title.
