Meghan Markle retired from acting after getting engaged to Prince Harry in 2017 and then marrying him last year, but she had the career for 15 years before she decided to leave it all behind. She started it off with a TV project in 2002, but her first film role didn’t arrive until 2005.

The Duchess of Sussex began her acting career with a few lines as Jill in an episode of “General Hospital,” then as Natasha in a 2004 episode of “Century City,” and then with her one-off character Cori in “Cuts” in 2005. Later that same year, Markle finally had her first movie role. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with an actual character name.

Hot Girl was all the former “Suits” actress was credited as in her first film, “A Lot Like Love.” The Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet rom-com centered on two people who met and joined the mile high club on a flight from Los Angeles to New York City, before going on to randomly bump into each other over the next seven years.

Although she’s credited simply as Hot Girl, Markle introduced herself as Natalie during her scene in the film, which featured her on a plane next to two guys — Kutcher’s Oliver and Kal Penn’s Jeeter. She introduced herself to the latter of the two men before exchanging a few more lines with him.

The following year, with the release of the TV movie “Deceit,” Markle finally got a film role with an actual character name — Gwen — attached to her credit. In total, Markle was in more than 10 movies before retiring from acting. Now, she’s living inside a real-life royal romance movie with Prince Harry as her husband and a baby on the way.
