What We Know About ‘Dancing With The Stars: Juniors’ So Far
Fans of “Dancing With the Stars” were elated to learn they’d be getting a double dose of the show this fall on ABC, with a new addition to the franchise, “Dancing With the Stars: Juniors,” airing on Sunday nights.
Beyond the initial announcement, which revealed the episodes would be pre-taped and only one hour long, not much has been shared about what the show will entail. However, some other small facts about the new series have come to light.
While the official cast of celebrity kids and kids of celebrities who are participating has yet to be revealed, some things have been seemingly confirmed. Here’s everything we know about the new series so far.
Tom Bergeron Is Not Hosting The New Show
In an interview with Access Hollywood back in May 2017, long time “Dancing With the Stars” host Tom Bergeron confirmed that he would not be pulling double-duty with “Junior.”
“I will not be hosting that, but I wish it well,” he said at the time.
He also revealed he wasn’t sure who would be getting the lucrative hosting gig for the new series, though it’s noteworthy that the series hadn’t even been given an official slot on the schedule yet by ABC at the time.
The Cast Ages Will Skew Very Young
According to Pure DWTS, which often provides accurate spoilers for the show, the pros that tried out for the show earlier this year were all generally 13 years old or younger. While that didn’t mean they were actually the only ones cast, it appears to suggest that the cast will entirely be composed of kids who don’t fall above the age mark of being a teenager.
The Pros Have Been Cast
While the celebrity kids who are competing have not yet been revealed, Pure DWTS has reportedly confirmed the identities of 11 young pros who will be participating on the show, and fans of dance shows will likely recognize some of them from previous TV appearances. The pros will be
- Rylee Arnold: Arnold previously auditioned during Season 13 of “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation” along with Brightyn Brems.
- Hailey Bills

- Tristan Ianeiro
- Lev Khmelev: This young dancer also competed on “So You Think You Can Dance,” and was present at the recent opening of “DWTS” pro Gleb Savchenko’s new dance studio.
- Jake Monreal: Monreal finished in seventh place with reigning DWTS pro Mirrorball trophy holder Jenna Johnson on “So You Think You Can Dance.”
- Kamri Peterson
- Sage Rosen

Regular “DWTS” Pros Are Still Involved With The Show
Pro Witney Carson previously confirmed to International Business Times that the “DWTS” pros would be serving as mentors on the show.
“ I think it's going to be really interesting to see these little kids work together and have us kind of mentor them and kind of help them,” she said at the time.
According to Pure DWTS, Witney will be joined by Cheryl Burke, Lindsay Arnold, Emma Slater, Jenna Johnson, Hayley Ebert, Artem Chigvintsev, Gleb Savchenko, Sasha Farber, Keo Motsepe, Alan Bersten and Brandon Armstrong as the pro mentors who will work with the younger teams.
