What’s New On Netflix? Full List Of September 2019 Releases

Summer is coming to an end, but Netflix season is never over. The streaming service is adding dozens of new movies and TV shows in September, including beloved classics and new originals.

September kicks off with Netflix adding tons of new options on Sunday. In addition to movies like “The Lake House,” “300” and “Superbad,” the second and third movies from the original “Lord of the Rings” trilogy will start streaming.

The latest seasons of some fan-favorite TV shows will also be available on Netflix. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 6 and “The Walking Dead” Season 9 will release Sept. 1 while “Shameless” Season 9 and “Gotham” Season 5 join later in the month.

Netflix also has several originals launching in September. Ryan Murphy’s first Netflix TV show, “The Politician,” will focus on a privileged young man (Ben Platt) who knows he is going to be president one day. Meanwhile, Netflix original movies include the sweet coming-of-age story “Tall Girl” and Zach Galifianakis’ comedic “Between Two Ferns: The Movie.”

Several Netflix originals will also return with new seasons. “Elite” Season 2, “The Chef Show” Volume 2 and “Disenchantment” Part 2 all premiere in September.

Of course, Netflix has options for viewers wanting something darker. “Unbelievable” is a movie about a girl (Kaitlyn Dever) who isn’t believed when she reports her sexual assault. The new series “Criminal” will follow investigators across four countries as they interrogate their suspects. Hayley Atwell (“Avengers: Endgame”) and David Tennant (“Good Omens”) star in the episodes set in the U.K.
