What’s Next For Jamie Dornan? A Look At His Movie Career After ‘Fifty Shades Freed’
Jamie Dornan’s leading role playing mysterious businessman Christian Grey rocketed him to international stardom, but the “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise is just the start of his career. In honor of the actor’s 35th birthday on Monday, take a look at where his career is headed post “Fifty Shades.”
Moviegoers have seen Dornan portray Grey alongside Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele in two big screen features so far, but they have one more installment to look forward it. In February 2018, Christian and Ana’s love story will continue in a big way in the third and final chapter, “Fifty Shades Freed.” But luckily for fans of the Northern Irish thespian, he has other roles already lined up.

This year, fans can see Dornan play opposite Jemima Kirke, as a former teen prodigy and addict who tries to become a writer, in “Untogether.” The film also stars Alice Eve, Jennifer Grey, Ben Mendelsohn and Billy Crystal. Directed and written by Emma Forrest, the movie will follow Dornan’s character, Nick, as he engages in an affair with Kirke’s Andrea, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
In March 2018, Dornan will help tell the classic tale of “Robin Hood” in a big screen feature of the same name. Directed by Otto Bathurst, the movie is described as being a “gritty take” on the fable. Dornan plays Will Scarlet in the film while Taron Egerton plays Robin. Other actors include Dornan’s “Untogether” co-star Mendelsohn as Sheriff of Nottingham, Jamie Foxx as Little John and Eve Hewson as Maid Marian.
Of course, Dornan can also be watched on the small screen. Since 2013, he has been playing serial killer Paul Spector on the drama series “The Fall.” While Season 4 is currently up in the air, viewers shouldn’t expect to see more of Dornan’s Spector should the program be renewed.
“I don’t think I’m giving much away in saying [Season 3 is] Jamie’s last season,” creator Allan Cubitt said late last year. “But that’s not to say we wouldn’t do more of ‘The Fall.’”
