The return of fall TV shows continues Wednesday with another night of season premieres. It’s a night of many fan-favorite returns, but ABC will air a couple series debuts as well.

At 8 p.m. EDT, viewers have their choice of genres. Reality fans can catch “Survivor” Season 37 as it introduces the “David vs. Goliath” theme, meaning underdogs will be pitted against those favored to win. Those who prefer their drama to be scripted will be happy to know “Empire” is back, and it’ll pick up two years after they lost the company. The Lyon family is divided, and they’ll have even more tragedy after their time apart.

NBC will launch their One Chicago programming lineup on Wednesday too. “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” will air back-to-back-to-back.

ABC will also launch their latest drama, “A Million Little Things.” The tearjerker follows a group of friends who are shaken when one of them dies by suicide. The new fall TV series has been compared to “This Is Us,” but fans will decide if it has the same staying power.

Before ABC makes everyone cry, they’ll bring the laughs back. Comedies will also return on Wednesday. “The Goldbergs” Season 6 kicks off with an episode inspired by “Sixteen Candles.” “American Housewife” will show Katie (Katy Mixon) heading back to work as a party planner. “Modern Family” Season 10 will show the clan celebrating Fourth of July, and Jay (Ed O’Neill) is the parade marshal. The sitcom block will finish off with a series premiere.

“Single Parents” follows a group of adults with elementary school kids. Will (Taran Killam) is the new room parents, and he expects all the single parents to volunteer just as much as he does. Angie (Leighton Meester), the leader of the single parent group, decides that they have to break down his will to be the perfect father. They visit his house and quickly realize that he has been sucked into “the vortex,” and he truly needs their help.
