What’s Your Urine Color? Be Warned Of The Color That Denotes Prostate Cancer
This disease occurs when the small gland in men’s pelvis, known as prostate, gets affected by cancer. It develops in a very slow manner, and sometimes, the symptoms are so subtle, it’s hard for men to see that they already have the condition. One thing that men should be wary of is the color of their urine.
The Symptoms of Prostate Cancer
According to health experts, an unusual urine color could denote prostate cancer. This unusual color is blood in the urine. This condition is known in medical parlance as hematuria. Although there are other conditions that hematuria is known to be related to, prostate cancer is also one of them.
According to Prostate Cancer News Today, blood in urine is dependent on the stage of cancer. Those who suffer from the disease could also experience a host of urinary problems. Some may find it difficult to urinate. Others would experience the opposite, wherein they get to urinate more frequently than usual.
Other symptoms of prostate cancer would include pain in both the back and the pelvis. There are also those “late symptoms,” appearing much later than the rest. These late symptoms would include feeling so tired because the number of red blood cells is already very low.
As per health experts, blood in the urine would often denote damage to kidneys. It is also associated with other problems in various parts of the urinary tract. Other possible areas would include the urethra, bladder, or ureters. It is also possible that blood in the urine could be an effect of radiation therapy.
Since blood in the urine is a symptom, an indication of an underlying disease, it is always best to consult the physician at the very first instance that you notice the presence of blood. Your doctor may ask you to undergo a urinalysis so that they would be able to determine any abnormalities in the urine.
So if you notice any change in color or any unusual hue in your urine, it would be best to consult the physician. That way, your condition would be properly evaluated, and the right treatment could be implemented.
