When Does 'Younger' Return? Debi Mazar Gives Season 7 Update

Fans are not getting any younger waiting for Season 7 of TV Land's popular series "Younger." So when is it coming out?

If fans were to base the answer on the previous years of the show, a good guess would be June, since that's when Seasons 4, 5, and 6 premiered. However, the last three years didn't have to deal with a worldwide pandemic that has effectively postponed production on numerous shows. The novel coronavirus has drastically affected the entertainment industry and how it operates and, unfortunately, "Younger" is included in that bunch.

Speaking with ET in a social-distanced video interview, Debi Mazar, who stars as Maggie Amato in the series, dished about what's happening with the upcoming season.

"We had received the first two scripts and I was supposed to go for a wardrobe fitting next week. We were supposed to have the first group table read on March 24 or something like that and then March 25 was a big photo shoot for the cast photo and then March 30 was the first day of production," she shared.

Unfortunately for fans looking forward to new episodes, COVID-19 derailed those plans.

"We never even got to the fittings. The wardrobe people were ready at the studio, pulling stuff, getting ready. The sets were being built, my apartment was being put back together, and then it just all shut down," Mazar added.

The actress said she is hopeful the series will start production on Season 7 in August or September.

It's been almost a year since "Younger" and its cast-- Charles Michael Davis, Nico Tortorella, Molly Bernard, Miriam Shor, Hilary Duff, Sutton Foster, and Peter Hermann -- were given the green light for another season.

"Season after season, 'Younger' has continued to reach new heights and build an incredibly loyal fan base," Keith Cox, president of development and production at Paramount Network and TV Land, said in a statement accompanying news of the show's renewal. "We love this talented and amazing cast and can’t wait to see what Darren [Star] has in store for Season 7."
