When Is The First Day Of Spring 2022? Facts, Quotes Celebrating Vernal Equinox
Following the end of daylight savings, the first day of spring is not far behind. In 2022, the vernal equinox will occur on March 20 in the northern hemisphere when the sun crosses the equator line, marking the beginning of a new season.
During this time of year, the sun begins to tilt toward the sun causing an increase in daylight hours and warmer temperatures.
The term “equinox” originates from the Latin words for “equal night.” When the equinox occurs, the sun crosses the celestial equator from the south to the north resulting in the length of days and nights becoming almost equal.
Equinoxes happen twice a year and are the only times the sun rises in the east and sets in the west across the globe.
