When And How To Watch ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’ Season 1 On Netflix Dec. 13
Count Olaf and the Baudelaire children are coming to a small screen near you. On Friday, fans of Lemony Snicket’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events” book series can begin watching the story play out on Netflix.
Those living on the East Coast looking to binge-watching all eight episodes on the premiere date will have to stock up on their midnight snacks! Netflix’s release schedule means “A Series of Unfortunate Events” Season 1 will premiere at 12:00 a.m. PST on Friday, Jan. 13, which translates to 3:00 a.m. EST. A late night indeed!
It isn’t all bad news, though. New Netflix subscribers can get a free subscription to the streaming platform. The service’s 30-day trial means you’ll have enough time to watch the entire Season 1 before the trial period ends. You can cancel your membership online at any time. Those who have already used up their trial offer can subscribe to Netflix for $7.99 a month. (An HD subscription will cost you more.)
“A Series of Unfortunate Events” follows the Baudelaire children, Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny. After their well-off parents die in a fire, they’re sent to live with the wicked Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris). When things don’t go well with the Count, the children are sent to live with several other guardians, only for Olaf to follow in different disguises. His goal? To keep the children’s fortune for himself. Will the Baudelaire children be able to unlock their family’s dark secrets before it’s too late?
“A Series of Unfortunate Events” is based off Daniel Handler’s (pen name Snicket) children book series of the same name. The series has 13 titles, the last, titled “The End,” released in 2006. The popular story was also translated for the big screen in 2004 with actor Jim Carrey starring as Count Olaf.
