When Is Shark Week 2019? Full Schedule Revealed By Discovery Channel
The best part of summer is almost here. Shark Week 2019 is just around the corner, and the full schedule shows Discovery Channel’s exciting lineup of specials.
The 31st annual programming event kicks off on July 28 with a Megalodon investigation and a celebrity shark diving trip. This year’s Shark Week also includes a scripted special starring Josh Duhamel (“Transformers”) and Tyler Blackburn (“Pretty Little Liars”). Of course, the nightly after show, “Shark After Dark,” is also back.

Sunday, July 28
8 p.m. — “Expedition Unknown: Megalodon” — Paleontologists will use fossilized teeth to figure out why the Megalodon, 60-ton mega-sharks, suddenly disappeared.
9 p.m. — “Shark Trip: Eat. Prey. Chum.” — Comedian Rob Riggle brings fellow funny guys Joel McHale, Anthony Anderson, Damon Wayans Jr. and Adam Devine to the Bahamas to swim with the sharks.
11 p.m. — “Shark After Dark” — Riggle hosts this year’s nightly aftershow.
Monday, July 29
8 p.m. — “Sharks of the Badlands” — Dive into the latest shark-detecting technology.
9 p.m. — “Legend of Deep Blue” — A team searches for the largest great white shark in the world.
10 p.m. — “The Sharks of Headstone Hell” — A scientist analyzes the behavior of the tiger sharks at Norfolk Island and tries to determine if locals throwing animal carcasses into the water has made the sharks more likely to attack.
11 p.m. — “Shark After Dark”
Tuesday, July 30
8 p.m. — “Sharkwrecked: Crash Landing” — Paul de Gelder and James Glancy bail out of an aircraft at 3500 feet to see what it’s like to crash into some of the world’s most shark-infested waters.
9 p.m. — “Laws of Jaws: Dangerous Waters” — Experts reenact five shark attacks to determine what could have gone differently.
10 p.m. — “Air Jaws Strikes Back” — Experts inspect a newly discovered shark vs. seal battleground at the base of a 200-foot cliff.
11 p.m. — “Shark After Dark”
Wednesday, July 31
8 p.m. — “Extinct or Alive: The Lost Shark” — Husband and wife duo Forrest and Jessica Galante search the Indian Ocean to see if the extinct Pondicherry shark has returned.
9 p.m. — “Capsized: Blood in the Water” — This scripted drama depicts the real-life story of a 1982 crew who must survive a group of tiger sharks after their boat capsizes. The cast includes Josh Duhamel, Tyler Blackburn, Rebekah Graf, Beau Garrett and Josh Close.
11 p.m. — “Shark After Dark”
Thursday, Aug. 1
8 p.m. — “Return to Shark Island” — Shark scientist Dr. Craig O’Connell looks into the sudden increase of bull sharks and attacks on a tropical island.
9 p.m. — “Great White Kill Zone: Guadalupe” — Dr. Yannis Papastamatiou and Melissa Marquez try to record never before seen white shark hunting behaviors on Guadalupe Island.
10 p.m. — “Monster Mako: Perfect Predator” — The search for the largest Makos in the world continues.
11 p.m. — “Shark After Dark”
Friday, Aug. 2
8 p.m. — “Isle of Jaws: Blood Brothers” — Using the latest tracking technology, experts investigate if sharks prefer to hunt alongside family.
9 p.m. — “Andrew Mayne: Ghost Diver” — Master illusionist, author and inventor Andrew Mayne attempts to create a shark suit that will make him invisible to great whites.
10 p.m. — “I Was Prey: Shark Week” — Shark attack victims recall their harrowing experiences.
Saturday, Aug. 3
8 p.m. — “Sharks Gone Wild 2” — See the year’s best shark-related viral videos, news stories and technological breakthroughs.
9 p.m. — “Shark Week Immersion” — The Immersion crew answers a wide range of shark-related questions by bringing some of the most iconic shark moments from pop culture history to life.
