When Will ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 3, Episode 5 Release On Hulu?
What’s the most tragic part of “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 3? That it’s not available to binge-watch yet. Fans have to wait a week for episode 5.
Hulu is releasing new episodes of “The Handmaid’s Tale” every Wednesday at 12 a.m. EDT. That means those on Pacific Daylight Time can see it as early as 9 p.m. on Tuesdays. “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 3, episode 5 will release on Wednesday, June 19.
Episode 5 is titled “Unknown Caller,” and it’ll show the Waterfords trying to get to baby Nichole. “June (Elisabeth Moss) and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) grapple with a new revelation about Nichole, leading to an incident that will have far-reaching ramifications,” the synopsis says.
Gilead knows that Luke (O-T Fagbenle) has June’s baby. They saw a video of him at a protest with her, and June had to confirm that it was her husband. She clearly had mixed feelings, both joy that her baby is safe and fear that her husband is on Gilead’s radar.
The trailer for next week makes it clear that the Waterfords need June. They want to arrange a visit to Canada to say goodbye to their daughter, but they can’t do that if June doesn’t help by calling Luke. She wants to know what she’ll get in return.
June asks Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) if he thinks Luke is in danger. “We’re all in danger,” he says.
Luke, meanwhile, doesn’t seem scared. He remains fiercely protective of the little girl and tells someone she’ll know about her mom. “Nichole is gonna know exactly where she came from and how brave her mother was. That’s her story,” Luke says.

While there won’t be a new episode until next week, the cast teamed up to create a different kind of video. The stars are rallying for Planned Parenthood to fight the recent abortion bans. Moss, Whitford, Samira Wiley (Moira), Ann Dowd (Aunt Lydia), Madeline Brewer (Janine), Amanda Brugel (Rita) and Max Minghella (Nick) teamed up with Bazaar.com and Planned Parenthood to record a pro-choice PSA.
