When Will ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 3, Episode 6 Release On Hulu?
“The Handmaid’s Tale” left off on a disturbing note in Season 3, episode 5. The Waterfords launched a campaign to get baby Nichole back while Luke finally heard from June via a smuggled cassette tape. Fans are anxious for Hulu to release episode 6, but they’ll have to wait a week for it.
Audiences who are just catching up on “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 3 might not realize that the show follows a weekly release schedule. New episodes drop every Wednesday. Season 3, episode 6 premieres Wednesday, June 26 at 12 a.m. EDT. That means the west coast can catch the episode at 9 p.m. PDT on Tuesday.
Episode 6, titled “God Bless the Child,” will focus on the Waterfords’ efforts to get Nichole back. After Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) said goodbye to baby Nichole in Canada, she decided her selfish impulses were more important than her daughter growing up with any sort of freedom. That video June (Elisabeth Moss) was forced to be a part of won’t be the last time she is used in their campaign.
The trailer for episode 6 shows Fred (Joseph Fiennes) organizing mass prayers and more videos. “Seeing her changed everything for me,” Serena says.
June, however, is determined to keep her daughter safe. “I am the child’s mother, and I want Nichole to stay in Canada,” June tells someone in the promo video. She has to be careful about who she speaks to like that. The Waterfords would never approve of her claiming to be Nichole’s mother.
The trailer also reveals they’re in Washington, D.C. — or what’s left of it. Serena and June convene in front of a destroyed Lincoln Memorial while handmaids with mouth coverings are lined up in front of what appears to be Washington Monument. An addition has made it a massive cross. It seems Nichole’s “kidnapping” is causing quite a stir among Gilead’s top politicians.

Strahovski acknowledged that Serena isn’t thinking too far ahead anymore. She’s following her heart without thinking about the consequences.
“We’re seeing her unravel over these first five episodes in Season 3 and she doesn’t know where to look and what to do,” Strahovski told TheWrap. “She’s not thinking straight in the way she normally does in her manipulative ways. I’m not sure that she has even thought through that particular decision and is probably just riding on gut instincts.”
