“Nioh” is getting its first paid downloadable content soon. Apparently, Japanese publisher Koei Tecmo has revealed more information about “The Dragon of Tohoku,” including its release date.

Just this Monday, Japanese publication Gamer reported that it has learned directly from Koei Tecmo that the first paid DLC of “Nioh” is scheduled for release on May 2, 2017. On the same day, the company is also launching a free update that will implement online PvP in the action RPG.

According to Koei Tecmo, “The Dragon of Tohoku” will come with new scenarios, new characters, new stages, new weapon types, new guardian spirits and new yokai. The video game publisher also announced that the standalone price of the paid DLC in Japan is 1,300 yen, and this does not include tax. There’s no information yet on how much this will cost in the U.S.

The upcoming paid DLC, which will launch as “The Dragon of the North” in the west, is said to come with one of the most relevant historical characters from the Sengoku Jidai, named Date Masamune. Per DualShockers, Masamune is also known as “dokuganryu” or “one-eyed dragon.” In the game, Masamune is portrayed as a man wearing an eyepatch, a unique armor and a helmet with a crescent moon-shaped maedate.

As mentioned earlier, Koei Tecmo is also rolling a free update to the game on the same day as the paid DLC. This free update will come with online PvP and more unannounced features yet. The online battle mode is said to bring a new stage of interpersonal warfare among players, and this is different from the cooperative play in the game.

“Nioh” is a dark, samurai-centric action RPG made exclusively for the PlayStation 4 platform. It is published by Koei Tecmo in Japan and by Sony Interactive Entertainment internationally.
