When Will ‘Outlander’ Season 3 Be On Netflix? Release Date Revealed
Netflix subscribers who stream “Outlander” have been anxiously awaiting more new episodes. The series has aired four seasons on Starz, but only the first two were released on Netflix in May. However, more new episodes are coming soon.
“Outlander” Season 3 will release Tuesday, Dec. 10 on Netflix. The third season aired on Starz in fall 2017 and is based on Diana Gabaldon’s novel, “Voyager.”
The season picks up with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) separated by a couple centuries. Jamie sent Claire back to the future to protect her and their unborn child, and Claire assumes he died during the Battle of Culloden.
The separation won’t be quick. The series will follow Claire from the 1940s into the 1960s as she tries to move on with her life. That means raising Jamie’s child with Frank (Tobias Menzies), who, in case anyone forgot, still looks just like the villainous Black Jack Randall. Meanwhile, Jamie has to face consequences after the Jacobite rising failed.
“Outlander” Season 3 is a good one. It even scored some major awards nominations. Balfe received a Golden Globe nod for best leading actress and won an Irish Film and Television Award for best lead actress after the season aired. The crew received an Emmy nomination for best period costumes.
Still, Netflix fans won’t want to speed through the 13 episodes too quickly. They will still have to wait for Season 4. The most recent season of “Outlander” still doesn’t have a Netflix release date.
Meanwhile, fans who are already caught up are anxiously awaiting Season 5. The time travel drama has been on hiatus for nearly a year already, and it won’t return until February.
Luckily, Jamie and Claire’s romance will be steaming up the small screen just after Valentine’s Day. “Outlander” Season 5 premieres Feb. 16 on Starz.
