One would guess that as FLOTUS, Melania Trump would hardly need to shop for anything, much less herself.

Yet while the first lady does have a penchant for sleek, cutting-edge pieces from major European and American designers, from Roland Mouret to Michael Kors, we are given some clues into how exactly Melania Trump, 46, shops.

Case in point: Melania Trump sent the media into a firestorm when she donned a pink pussy bow blouse by Gucci to attend a presidential debate — but the blouse could easily be shopped from online designer hub Net-A-Porter. She also wore another piece from Net-A-Porter, a white Roksanda dress, to the Republican National Convention. The dress is still available online in a range of colors for $2,195.

Interviews with the former model also reveal some highlights about where and how Trump likes to shop. In a closet tour and interview with Elle Magazine in 2012, Trump revealed “her favorite shopping destinations include Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Valentino.”

She also revealed that, while that the very particular Donald Trump did shop with her for items like jewelry, antiques, furniture and “special presents,” she shopped for clothing on her own.

Melania Trump even revealed how she preferred to shop for pieces:

“When I buy something, I don’t need to wear it right away,” she told Elle Magazine. “I’m not into that. I don’t follow what is in fashion now; I just listen to myself and what I like."

When it comes to jewelry, it’s likely the first lady will wear a piece from her own jewelry line. And one can expect that she keeps it well-organized.

“I always buy things that I love 100 percent. I’m very organized, and I like everything sorted by colors, even the shoes,” she had said of her closet.
