Recovering drug addict Kirstin Perez from "My 600-Lb Life" cannot kick her toxic relationship with food. TLC

Kirstin Perez was able to overcome her addiction to drugs, but she still struggled over a battle with food. The former drug addict and mother-of-two ballooned to a weight of 600 pounds as she continued to hit rock bottom. In an exclusive clip obtained by People Magazine Wednesday, Perez explained her how her poor eating habits affected her health on TLC's hit reality show “My 600-Lb Life.

“I hardly get out of the house because it hurts just to move. But sometimes I get stir-crazy so I push myself and try to get out,” Perez, 38, said. “I have not been out of the house since the beginning of this month.”

Part of the reason she does not leave her home is because it’s hard for her to get around. “Getting out to the car should be two seconds, but it takes me like, ten minutes,” she said.

The subject hit another low when she wasn’t able to fit inside her mother’s car. “I can’t do it!” Perez cried. “I can’t fit. I can’t do it. It’s not working. I just want to go back inside.”

She admitted to the TLC documentary cameras: “This has never happened before. I’ve never been so big that I couldn’t fit in a car.”

Perez’s mother, Cris McKee, knew it was time for her daughter to get help. “If Kirstin doesn’t take some dramatic steps to change her eating, she’s going to lose her mobility, and be bed-bound,” McKee, 60, said. “If I can’t get that door shut then I don’t know what we’re going to do. I’m going to really have a hard time trying to get her out of this house.”

Not being able to move around would be the worst case scenario. “Losing my mobility is a death sentence,” Perez said.

To help get her weight under control, Perez sought the help of renowned Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan, M.D., F.A.C.S. She most likely underwent gastric bypass to help drop the pounds.
