Where Is The Original ‘Queer Eye For The Straight Guy’ Cast Now?
It’s the age of reboots and that’s found its way to reality series, as well. Bravo’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” which shortened its title to just “Queer Eye” later on during its broadcast, has been rebooted for Netflix. The show, which is now available on the streaming service, continues to follow five experts makeover a person in some manner.
The series has an all-new Fab Five, but here’s what the original “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” cast is doing now.
Ted Allen (Food and Wine)
There are no shortage of opportunities for food connoisseurs, apparently, as Allen’s worked on a slew of programs since his time on “Queer Eye.” He’s been a judge on “Top Chef,” “Beat Bobby Flay,” a host on “Food Detectives,” “America’s Best Cook,” “Chopped” and quite a few other series.
Kyan Douglas (Grooming)
As the expert on all things grooming, Douglas was responsible for the hair and makeup makeovers. After this series ended, he started using his skills on “Rachael Ray” to help transform even more people. He’s been an expert on the show on and off since 2008.
Thom Filicia (Design)
He held his own series, “Dress My Nest,” for a few years where he would make over a different fan’s room on each episode. He also worked on the 2011 “Radio City Special” and was on an episode of “Million Dollar Contractor.” Now he speaks at seminars and has his work included in books.
Carson Kressley (Fashion)
Taking his styling talents with him, Kressley hosted “How to Look Good Naked,” “True Beauty” and “Carson Nation.” He was also a contestant on “Dancing With the Stars,” “Beat Bobby Flay” and, most recently, “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!”
Jai Rodriguez (Culture)
Aside from being a specialist on all things pop culture and relationships, leading to him work on shows like “Model Latina” and “Groomer Has It,” Rodriguez is also an actor. He was in the TV series “Gigantic,” “Harry’s Law,” “Days of our Lives,” “Malibu Country” and “Wisdom of the Crowd.” He’s currently filming the romance film “From Zero to I Love You.”
The first season of the “Queer Eye” reboot is now available on Netflix.
