“Shake It Off” singer Taylor Swift usually throws a huge bash with all her celebrity friends every 4th of July, but this year was entirely different because her Rhode Island mansion was noticeably empty on Independence Day.

Only her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, were present in her multimillion-dollar beachfront home that day. So where is the singer? No official word has been given as to her whereabouts, but a source told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday that she is “really focused on working on her new music,” so she is trying to avoid public scrutiny.

The source added that Swift is not avoiding her fans, but is “just in focus mode.” “She’s spending time with her family... just doing her,” the insider continued.

Swift is reportedly dating Joe Alwyn, and she might be keeping a low profile to preserve her relationship with the Reading, Pennsylvania native.

A different source earlier told E! News that Swift and Alwyn have been dating for a couple of months already, and her close friends and family have met her new beau. “This isn’t a new couple alert or a secret relationship. The only people this has been a secret to is the media because all of us – Taylor and Joe’s closest friends and their families – were aware they have been together for several months and have known each other for a long time,” the source said.

Swift has made headlines because of her long list of boyfriends. She has dated actors and fellow singers, and she even wrote several hits out of all these breakups. The most obvious one is the song “Dear John,” which is about “Love On the Weekend” singer John Mayer. “Back to December” was reportedly a tribute to actor Taylor Lautner, while “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” could be about Jake Gyllenhaal.

Swift was really inspired by her split from One Direction crooner Harry Styles as well, since she reportedly wrote two songs about him: “Style” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Swift also wrote a song about the woman her ex Joe Jonas dumped her for, Camilla Belle, and she titled it, “Better Than Revenge.”

Not all of Swift’s songs are about breakups, however, since “Bad Blood” is reportedly about her feud with Katy Perry.
