Where To Watch ‘Downton Abbey’ Movie Sneak Peeks
PBS is treating fans to a “Downton Abbey” sneak peek. The American network for the Crawleys has a brand new special that will tease the fall movie.
To celebrate the film, due out in September, PBS is airing “Downton Abbey Returns!” According to the network, the new special is “is a nostalgic celebration of all aspects of the most successful British drama ever – the stellar cast, superb writing, spectacular locations and dazzling costumes.”
Mr. Carson actor Jim Carter will host the special, and he isn’t the only familiar face. There will be brand-new interviews with writer/creator Julian Fellowes and executive producer Gareth Neame as well as many of the cast members.
In addition to looking back at some of the best moments from all six seasons of “Downton Abbey,” PBS also promises exclusive sneak peeks of the upcoming film.
“Downton Abbey Returns!” will start airing this month on PBS stations. Some will start airing Sunday night, but others will hold the special for later in the month. Check your local listings.
The “Downton Abbey” movie will pick up shortly after the series wrapped up. The Great Depression hasn’t hit yet, but things are certainly changing. However, Lord and Lady Grantham have to get the household in top shape when King George V and Queen Mary announce that they’ll visit.
The movie will bring back most of the core cast members from the TV series, including Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery and Allen Leech. Fellowes wrote the script, and Michael Engler directed the Focus Features film.
The “Downton Abbey” movie will hit theaters Sept. 20.
