Where To Watch 'NCIS,' 'Chicago PD,' 'Law And Order: SVU' Marathons This Week
To help viewers get through another week of social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic, the USA Network has scheduled a series of crime show marathons all week. Here’s a list of the shows that will be apart of the programing and their scheduled air times (all EDT).
“Chicago P.D.”
A “Chicago P.D.” marathon kicked off at 9 a.m. and will end at 8 p.m. on Monday with a showing of 11 episodes. The marathon will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. until 5 a.m. on Sunday morning, totaling 22 episodes.
"Chicago P.D." follows the staff that makes up the city's police department's elite Intelligence Unit. The show's lead character is Sergeant Hank Voight. Alongside his team of detectives, he combats "organized crime, drug trafficking, high-profile murders and beyond."
The show's cast consists of Jon Seda ("Chicago" franchise, "Treme"), Jesse Lee Soffer ("Chicago" franchise, "Mob Doctor"), Patrick John Flueger ("The 4400," "Scoundrels"), Marina Squerciati ("Chicago" franchise, "Marshall," "Gossip Girl"), Elias Koteas ("The Killing," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"), LaRoyce Hawkins ("Chicago" franchise), Amy Morton ("Chicago" franchise, "Boss," "Blue Bloods") and Tracy Spiridakos ("MacGyver," "Bates Motel").
Seda won a best actor Imagen Award in 2019 for his role in the show.
“Law & Order: SVU”
The “Law & Order: SVU” marathon will begin on Tuesday at 9 a.m. after an episode of “NCIS.” A total of 15 episodes will air before concluding at midnight. The show continues it’s marathon run at 9 a.m. on Sunday and ends at 5 a.m. on April 27.
According to the network’s description of the show, “This hard-hitting and emotional series from NBC's 'Law & Order' brand chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes. The series revolves around Olivia Benon (Mariska Hargitay, “ER”) Odafin ‘Fin’ Tutola ( Ice-T, “Players”), & Nick Amaro (Danny Pino, “Burn Notice”).”
Other stars include Kelli Giddish (“Chase”), Christopher Meloni (“Happy!”) and Richard Belzer (“Scarface”).
Hargitay won herself a lead actress Emmy in 2006 for her part in the series.
“NCIS”
The “NCIS” marathon commences at 7 a.m. on Wednesday with an episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles.” The action continues with 12 episodes of the original series concluding at 8 p.m.
The series follows Leroy Jethro Gibbs who is played by Mark Harmon, (“The West Wing”). Leroy is a former Marine Gunnery Sergeant, who is now working as a special agent for NCIS. His criminal investigation experience, interrogation skills and "unorthodox approaches" are what sets him apart from the rest. His special team includes agent Michael Weatherly's Anthony Dinozzo, Sean Murray's Timothy McGee and Cote de Pablo's Ziva David, forensic specialist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) and medical examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum).
The series was nominated for Emmys in 2008 and 2013 for its stunt coordination.
“Psych”
Tune into the “Psych” beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday. The last episode airs at 1 p.m. on Friday totaling at a showing of 32 episodes.
The show is spearheaded by James Roday's (“The Dukes of Hazzard”) Shawn Spencer. His intense attention to detail makes him a rather exceptional police consultant earning him the label of "psychic" from his Santa Barbara colleagues.
"Psych also stars Dule Hill (“The West Wing”) as Shawn's best friend and reluctant sidekick, Gus, and Corbin Bernsen (“L.A. Law”) as his disapproving father, Henry, who ironically was the one who honed his son's "observation" skills as a child," according to the synopsis.
Other stars include “Two and a Half Men” star Maggie Lawson, Timothy Omundson of “Judging Amy” and Kirsten Nelson from “War of the Worlds."
The series was nominated for an Emmy for outstanding music composition for a series in 2010. Roday won an Imagen Award for best actor in 2012. A film follow up was released in 2017, and a sequel is currently in the works.
