Which 'Amazing Race Season 30 Team Will Be Eliminated In Belgium?
One team has already fallen on Season 30 of "The Amazing Race" and the remaining 10 will face some unexpected tasks as they make their way around the world in pursuit of $1 million. However, with some of the most competitive teams in the show's history on the race, things are set to get extremely dramatic.
Spoiler Alert: The ending of Season 30, Episode 1 "You're A Champion, Prove It" Is Discussed Below
Ring girls and Instagram models Dessie Mitchesson and Kayla Fitzgerald were eliminated from the first episode of the season after a literal foot race to the mat that saw them fall into last place by a literal second, as Goat Yoga moms April Gould and Sarah Williams beat them to the mat in the show's closest finish ever. The episode also saw a 30 minute penalty already given to Cedric Ceballos and Shawn Marion, who broke the rules during the Roadblock.
With those surprises already occurring in the first episode, things will only get more challenging and competitive as the Race continues, especially with the upcoming head-to-head competitive twist. With that coming, teams way as the race heads to Antwerp, Belgium, which one seems least likely to make it to leg three? Here's our ranking of where we think the teams will fall by the time the next leg comes to an end.
Kristi Leskinen And Jen Hudak (#TeamExtreme):
Not only did Kristi and Jen come in first on Leg one, proving that they are strong competitors who shouldn't be discounted by the rest, but they are admittedly two of the most competitive people on the race as a whole. With the sheer determination to be the fourth all-female team to win the Race, they won't only make it past leg two, but likely can be counted on to make it straight to the finals.
Cody Nickson And Jessica Graf (#TeamBigBrother):
Many were likely surprised to see these two not only make t past the first elimination, but land in second place. They had seemed assured first for a while as well, until a mistake with directions to the Pit Stop allowed Kristi and Jen to beat them. However, barring any other mistakes, including big ones, these two know competition from their time in the "Big Brother" house, and that knowledge of how competition works could carry them further than expected.
Henry Zhang and Evan Lynyak (#TeamYale):
There's no question that Henry and Evan are smart, and those Yale degrees are not something that were handed to them—they certainly earned them. Those smarts are definitely going to keep working for them as the race continues.
Chris Marchant and Trevor Wadleigh (#TeamWellstrung):
They came from behind to wind up in fourth place in the first leg, which bodes well for them going forward. It shows that they will be the kind of team that can work through almost any situation, which means they likely won't be deterred too often.
Alexander Rossi and Conor Daly (#TeamIndyCar):
Their competitive spirit will keep them going through the race (as will their motivation to get Conor off of Alex's couch and into his own place), but they will need to pay more attention to detail. If Conor's trouble at the roadblock is any indication, then a rush to finish tasks quickly will hurt them.
Joey Chestnut and Tim Janus (#TeamChomp):
While it seems like they won't make it to the finals, it will still be a little while before fans have seen the last of Joey and Tim. While they don't seem likely to ever break through to the front of the pack, they shouldn't be expected to be eliminated right away.
Lucas Bocanegra and Brittany Austin (#TeamOceanRescue):
Though Lucas and Brittany could be strong competitors because they understand urgency with their professions, there is a sense that there is some underlying drama with them that could explode and cause problems that will eliminate them earlier than expected.
Daniel and Eric Guiffreda (#TheFireFighters):
Though they, like the lifeguards, understand urgency through their profession, they don't seem as though they're going to make it far. For now, they seem destined to stay near the middle of the pack, and likely won't make it far because of that.
Cedric Ceballos and Shawn Marion (#TeamSlamDunk):
After also hitting struggles during the Roadblock, and encountering the first penalty of the season, things don't seem destined to work well for the former NBA champs. However, they will be saved from elimination on the next leg solely because there is one team that seems more likely to be knocked out.
April Gould and Sarah Williams (#TeamGoatYoga):
After not only just making it to the mat in time, but also already arguing after just one leg, it seems unlikely that the Goat Yoga moms will suddenly overcome and start beating the others. In addition, they seemed to also have navigation issues. With all of that combined working against them, it seems highly likely that they will be the second team knocked out.
