Which ‘New Girl’ Star Is Expecting A Baby?

“New Girl” lead star Zooey Deschanel is expecting her second baby with husband Jacob Pechenik.

According to US Weekly, the 37-year-old actress was spotted with a baby bump while on the set of the hit FOX sitcom. Deschanel and Pechenik are parents to 18-month-old daughter Elsie Otter.

Back in August 2015, Deschanel made two huge announcements to her fans. First, the actress revealed that she has given birth to Elsie. Second, she confirmed that she and Pechenik tied the knot in a secret ceremony. The actress’ rep told the publication that Deschanel and Pechenik’s wedding took place in June 2015 in Texas.

While Deschanel was pregnant with Elsie, the actress admitted that she had a hard time giving up some of her favorite foods. In an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” she said, “You can’t have sushi. You can’t have cheese that tastes good. You can have a little bit of coffee, but I would have, like, four cups a day. And now I can have a half cup, which is a joke. A total joke!”

Meanwhile, if Deschanel is filming while she’s pregnant, does this mean this will be written into Jess’ storylines in “New Girl” Season 6?

By the looks of it, the “500 Days of Summer” star’s pregnancy will be kept hidden just like when Elsie was still in the womb. At the time, Jess hid behind cabinets, plants and books so her baby bump would not be so obvious. Deschanel was also always wearing loose clothing.

In Season 6, it’s impossible for Jess to get pregnant. In recent episodes, she and her boyfriend Robby (Nelson Franklin) are already having problems with their relationship. Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess may still have some lingering feelings for each other, but the former is also in a relationship with Reagan (Megan Fox) at the moment.
