Anyone who has ever forgotten something for the Christmas feast will know that finding that one last item can be a real drag on Dec. 25. In that scenario, it’s not uncommon to drive around to every store within a reasonable distance only to find that nothing is open. Out of luck, the roast is missing the right blend of spices and family silently starts to ponder whose house should host Christmas next year even though there’s a pretty set holiday tradition that has been practiced for years now. Sad!

The supermarket giant was scheduled to be open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. It will be closed on Christmas Day. Many locations have grocery stores inside.

This health conscious grocery store was scheduled to be open until 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. Looking for organics and local food at the last minute? Whole Foods is the place to go.

Costco

OK, anyone who needs to go to Costco is unlikely to have the same problem as the one listed above but anyone in need of last minute Costco shopping can hit it up until 5 p.m. Christmas Eve. The joint is closed on Christmas.

Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s doesn’t list any changes to their operating hours on Christmas Eve but says it will be closed Christmas Day.

Albertson’s

Albertson’s has modified hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but suggests calling your local branch for more information.

Target

This retailer, which has grocery products in many locations, has extended hours on Christmas Eve but is closed on Christmas Day.
