The impending impeachment inquiry has left White House Officials scrambling and in ‘total panic’, as they have no idea how to counter the democrats.

The scandal involving President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has quickly spiraled out of control, making Trump’s position precarious. According to an NBC report, the situation in the White House was described as anxious and uneasy.

“There’s not a lot of confidence,” a source told NBC.

Even as Trump aides try to portray calm, they have struggled to organize any real fightback. Apparently there is no concrete plan to deal with the serious allegations that are being made against the President. According to sources, this controversy won’t pass with Trump’s usual distraction tactics.

There are rising concerns that as the situation worsens, the President would display increasingly erratic behavior, making it difficult to control him. Many believe that an unexpected lash out by Trump in the election year could be disastrous.

Trump’s impulsiveness has been viewed as his strength in the past, with the President relishing questions put to him related to Russia and Mueller investigations. He was constantly on the offensive and succeeded in overcoming that controversy as different news cycles emerged.

However, Trump seemed to be on the defensive during Wednesday’s press conference where he refused to be drawn into the Ukraine controversy, suggesting that the situation was different this time around.

While the transcripts of Trump’s July 25 phone call with Zelensky show him pressurizing the Ukraine government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, the president remains adamant that there was nothing wrong with the call.

Instead, he chose to cryptically threaten the whistleblower at a private event on Thursday.

“I want to know who’s the person—who’s the person who gave the whistleblower the information? Because that’s close to a spy,” Vox reported Trump saying at the event. “You know what we used to do in the old days when we were smart? Right? The spies and treason—we used to handle it a little differently than we do now.”

Another source described the mood in the West-Wing as ‘shell-shocked’. The officials believe that as the impeachment inquiry drags on and the pressure increases, the president would become increasingly unmanageable.
