Whitney Houston Casket Photo: Did Whoopi Lie About National Enquirer Publishing Photo Of Her Dead Dad? [VIDEO]
The National Enquirer got a lot of criticism for its cover last week, which featured a leaked photo of Whitney Houston's corpse during her family's open casket viewing, but columnist Mike Walker is claiming that Whoopi's is unfair, and that she's a liar!
While discussing the photo with fellow View co-hosts Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Whoopi announced that the Enquirer had posted a photo of her own father: when my dad passed away, they ran his picture on the cover of The Enquirer!
Mike Walker, however, says that's not true, writing: FACT: Our paper NEVER ran a coffin pic of Whoopi's estranged father, a preacher who died of cancer and AIDS, on our front page - OR ANYPAGE! ANYTIME! EVER!!
He got a little testy, saying Whoopi irresponsibly spewed a scurrilous lie, and that in fact Further, extensive research reveals that NO open-casket photo of Whoopi's father was ever published anywhere!
He also pointed out that Whoopi slimed the funeral home by blaming one of their employees for the leak (which he, of course, claims never happened). This brings to mind the Houston family's original claim that someone from the funeral home may have been involved in Whitney's casket photo leak, which lead to abuse being hurled upon funeral home owner Carolyn Wigham until she held a press conference to clear her name.
This is of course not the first time that Whoopi's told some whoppers on the air. Back in 2009 she famously said about Roman Polanski's assault on an underage girl, I know it wasn't rape-rape. It was something else but I don't believe it was rape-rape. And then there was another episode in 2009 when she said of the moon landing, there are a couple of questions I do have from time to time.
