Houston was seen leaving a doctor's office in Beverly Hills on Thursday, Feb. 2. That afternoon she was photographed exiting the brick stone office building. Though she appeared a bit worn out, she smiled and waved at the shutterbugs who were eager to snap a shot of her, reported Zimbio. She was helped into a chauffeured car by her bodyguard.
It was reported that earlier that week Houston had dined with ex-husband Bobby Brown in Beverly Hills. The ex-couple was accompanied by their daughter Bobbi Kristina.
Whitney Houston and Bobbi Kristina spent the night out together just days before her untimely death. The 48-year-old singer stepped out with her daughter to Kelly Price & Friends Unplugged: For the Love of R&B GRAMMY Party at Tru Hollywood on Thursday night, Feb. 9.
It was a rare public appearance for the singer who has not been in the limelight in quite some time. Houston had been gearing up for Sparkle, a film she had a role in alongside Jordin Sparks. The movie was set to hit theaters on Aug. 10. What will happen now has yet to be determined.
Thursday night was Houston's last red carpet appearance and her last live performance before her death. She took to the stage briefly, singing with R&B singer Kelly Price for a moment before bowing off.
That same night, she was photographed looking disheveled and disoriented in front of a Hollywood nightclub, reported ABC News. The Hollywood Reported claimed that the singer got into an altercation with X Factor finalist Stacy Francis. Houston was reportedly acting belligerent.
Whitney Houston's body was found at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday. She was at the Beverly Hilton Hotel set to attend Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy bash on Saturday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. It is one of the top events of awards season and Houston was expected to make an appearance.
It's a great time where everybody can set down their swords, so to speak, Davis told the L.A. Times. I was grateful that, inviting them to my home, that they would feel comfortable and just keep coming back, and they've kept coming back every year to where it's expanded to be this incredible haven for musicians.
Davis played a huge part in fostering Houston's success while working as a lawyer at Columbia Records. Houston was expected to party with the likes of Quincy Jones, Tony Bennett, Akon, Cee Lo Green, Miley Cyrus, Sean Puffy Combs, Jennifer Hudson, Jackson Browne, Elvis Costello and Diana Krall at the Grammy fete.
After the announcement of her death, many thought of her personal demons. Whitney Houston's struggle with drug and alcohol use was highly publicized. The biggest devil is me. I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy, Houston told ABC's Diane Sawyer in a 2002 interview with then-husband Bobby Brown by her side.
In May 2011, Houston received help for her struggle with drugs and alcohol, her representative confirmed at the time according to CNN. In 2010, Houston had declared herself drug free to Oprah Winfrey after having gone to rehab twice. Houston became headline fodder for her missed concert dates, strange appearances, a stop at an airport due to drugs and very public meltdowns.
