Famed mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey was set to face off Friday against Amanda Nunes in what could be one of Rousey's final fights. And while you may know all about Rousey, the first American woman to nab an Olympic medal in judo and an athlete once called "the world's most dominant," you may want to brush up on her opponent.

Nunes, nicknamed "the Lioness," is a 5-foot-8 28-year-old from Brazil. She fights out of Miami, has been pro since 2008 and is the current women's bantamweight champion.

On Friday, she's scheduled to defend her title at UFC 207 against Rousey, who was knocked out by Holly Holm in a November 2015 fight and hasn't returned since.

"Ronda is the one who has to be worried," Nunes told MMAFighting.com. "I don’t fear Ronda’s ground game, Ronda’s judo, nor her striking ... I will be ready in all areas. Whatever happens in the fight, I will have an answer for it. That’s what gives me the advantage in this fight."

Nunes has been training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu since she was a teenager, ESPN reported. She lives in Coconut Creek, Florida, with her girlfriend, strawweight Nina Ansaroff, and their dogs, Mowgli and Romeo. She and Ansaroff train at a gym that displays the belt Nunes won at UFC 200 against Miesha Tate earlier this year. Nunes has nine wins by knockout and three by submission.

Nunes grinned Thursday as she posed for pictures after officially weighing in at 135 pounds, Sherdog.com reported. Rousey also weighed in at 135 but proved camera-shy.

"I've done a lot of learning in this last year, and I've learned the views I get or the money I make doesn't really mean anything for my happiness," Rousey told Conan O'Brien earlier this month.

In any case, the betting favorite heading into Friday was Rousey, the more well-known of the two, according to Sports Illustrated. The website also noted "picking against a determined and focused Rousey is never wise."
