Spider-Man is officially the most popular superhero in the Marvel universe.
Software engineer Max Woolf used the comic book publisher’s just released API to scrape data on how many comic books each Marvel superhero has made an appearance in.
Spider-Man, who shows up in 2,576 comics, took the top spot as the most popular Marvel superhero. Iron Man, with 2,027 appearance came in second, and Wolverine, with 1,793 appearances came in third.
The data isn’t perfect, as it doesn’t include superheros that appear in groups, like The Avengers or the Fantastic Four.
