Rachel Respess and Shelley Dufresne, two high school English teachers in Louisiana, were arrested Wednesday on charges of having a threesome with a teenager, the Times-Picayune of New Orleans reported. Dufresne, 32, and Respess, 24, from suburban Destrehan High School, are charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Respess’ attorney said his client is innocent, according to Eyewitness News. A statement on behalf of Dufresne was not provided.

Authorities were notified after the student, who was 16 at the time, bragged about the ménage à trois at school, the Times-Picayune wrote. The teachers reportedly had sex with him after a football game on Sept. 12 at Respess’ home in nearby Kenner. The three reportedly stayed together until the “early morning hours.”

“No matter what sex the victim is, everyone should be outraged,” Kenner Police Chief Michael Glaser said, according to the Times-Picayune. “You have educators whose responsibility is the safety of children.”

Former students said the three “had been hot and heavy for some time, meeting for sex multiple times and documenting some of their encounters on video,” according to WGNO.

Investigators are looking at cell phone and other records to collect more evidence.

The legal age of consent in Lousisiana is 17. Both of the teachers have been suspended without pay. Dufresne is married with three children and has been at the school for nearly 10 years. She taught the student last year. Respess is an alumna of the school and has been there as a teacher for two years. She taught the student English this year.
