Ariana Grande revealed Sunday that she and her boyfriend, Dalton Gomez, are engaged, sharing photos of her massive diamond ring on Instagram.
Unlike her previous relationships, the singer's partner is a non-showbiz personality. Here’s what fans need to know about Grande's fiancé.
Profession
Grande’s exes, the late rapper Mac Miller and “Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson, were all well-known celebrities, but when she was first spotted with Gomez, nobody had any idea who he was. Apparently, the Grammy winner’s fiancé is a luxury real estate agent in Los Angeles for the Aaron Kirkman Group, which usually has stars as clients.
The Southern California-born real estate guru previously worked with Chandler Parsons and helped Grande’s lawyer sell his house, E! News reported.
Meeting His Fiancée
Gomez met Grande through his job. An Us Weekly source claimed that the “Thank U, Next” hitmaker was looking to buy a new house before the pandemic and lockdowns started and her team reached out to the agent for help.
As for first impressions, Grande reportedly thought Gomez was “cute and very good-looking.” She also showed interest in him, asking her team to set up a meeting for them.
Dating Grande
Gomez and Grande started dating in January this year, but the singer wanted to keep this relationship private, People reported.
“They have been hanging out for a couple of months. Ariana doesn’t want to do another public relationship so she is trying to keep this one quiet, but she seems very happy with Dalton,” a source told the outlet.
First Official Appearance
Although romance rumors between Grande and Gomez widely circulated earlier this year, they only made it official when they appeared in the music video for “Stuck with U,” her collaboration with Justin Bieber. The clip showed the couple dancing, hugging and packing on PDA, confirming speculations that they have been spending quarantine together.
“Ariana is staying at home with friends," an insider earlier told People. "She is very serious about self-distancing and has been with the same group of people for days. One of the people she is with right now is Dalton."
