It’s official — Chris Lopez, a longtime friend of “Teen Mom 2” star Kailyn Lowry, is the father of her third child.

The MTV reality star confirmed reports Tuesday on Twitter. She shared an article from OK! Magazine claiming that she’d taken a DNA test to confirm the paternity of her unborn child. Kailyn clarified that it was an Ancestry DNA test, not a paternity test.

Very little is known about Lopez at this time. The man in question doesn’t appear in any Instagram photos with Kailyn and hasn’t been featured on “Teen Mom 2.” No confirmed photos of her friend-turned-baby-daddy have been published at this time.

The “Teen Mom 2” star’s big reveal comes amid much speculation that Kailyn’s friend was the father of her third child. Rumors began swirling in late April, after the expectant mother shared a photo of her baby bump, referring to the child as “Baby Lo.” Some believed the nickname was related to her last name, while others thought it may be linked to his.

Although this is the first confirmation regarding the father of Kailyn’s third child, it’s not the first time she’s mentioned this mystery man. According to Daily Mail, the “Teen Mom 2” star recently did an Instagram Live session during which she pooled fans for baby names. Someone suggested the name Holden, which Kailyn said “Chris” would mock, though she later claimed she meant a female friend named “Kristen.”

Lopez gave rise to speculation on social media, tweeting about his “miracle child.” Kailyn reportedly favorited the tweet, which raised questions among fans. Lopez’s message has since been deleted and his Twitter alias either changed or deleted.

Before Kailyn finally revealed the true identity of her third child’s father several rumors about who the mystery man may be popped up in every corner of the Internet. On April 28, the mother of two responded to reports that Peter Gunz fathered her unborn child. She maintained that while Gunz “is a good friend,” they were not having a baby together.

Those rumors began circulating after fans noticed a comment from Gunz on Kailyn’s most recent bump photo. He claimed he’d been “calling” her, which seemed suspicious in the minds of readers. Others wrote it off, certain that either Tyler Hill, JC Cueva or Lopez was responsible for getting Kailyn pregnant again.

The “Teen Mom 2” star shocked the world with her pregnancy announcement in February. Kailyn shared a deeply personal blog post, explaining that she was “so happy” to be pregnant again and was hopeful that fans would rally around her. She shared a sonogram photo of the baby, but no further information about the gender or the child’s father.
