With the start of 2020 here, many may wonder if they will receive those year-end packages before the day is over. With New Year’s Day considered a holiday for many, most shippers have stopped their delivery services for the day, but there are still some options available for delivery of those last-minute packages. Here is a look at which shipping companies will be delivering packages on New Year’s Day.

UPS

UPS (UPS) has suspended all pickup and delivery services on New Year’s Day. For packages that must arrive on Wednesday, UPS does offer its Express Critical service, which can be accessed by calling 1-800-714-8779 or by visiting upsexpresscritical.com

UPS will resume normal delivery service on Thursday.

FedEx

FedEx (FDX) has also stopped its delivery service on New Year’s Day, with the majority of its shipping methods closed for the holiday. However, FedEx does offer Custom Critical service for packages that must arrive on Wednesday.

FedEx will resume normal operations on Thursday.

U.S. Postal Service

The U.S. Postal Service will also be closed on New Year’s Day with all office locations shut down, and mail delivery services stopped on Wednesday.

All locations will open on Thursday, with regular mail also resuming that day.

Amazon

Amazon (AMZN) will not be delivering packages on New Year’s Day. The retailer has stopped service for the holiday and will resume normal deliveries on Thursday.
